The Z71 package is an upgrade option available to buyers of the Chevy Suburban. The package includes many exterior improvements as well as updates of the tires and suspension. It is also known as the Appearance Package Off-Road, given the nature of the improvements of the exterior details.

Availability and requirements

The Z71 package is only available for Suburban models with a towing capacity of 1/2 ton and offers small variations depending if equipped with four-wheel drive in two or if you have rear wheel drive. The upgrade kit is only available in trucks with black outside, white, red, gray or silver.

Specifications of the suspension and tire

Included with the Z71 package improved sources, gas-charged monotube shocks and a rear differential. Tires 265/65/18 size are updated on aluminum wheels.

Exterior improvements

To help Off-Road appearance, the Z71 includes side mirrors with body color, a front air dam, flared wheel arches at the front and rear, side steps, front and rear bumpers swinging plastic, fog lamps and one roof rack. It also includes a special cover for the projections nuts, front grill and body-colored side panels thicker than the factory original.
